Project Rocketry

Project Rocketry is a student-run team under SEDS Celestia at BITS Pilani, K.K. Birla Goa Campus. We are researching and designing a hybrid engine-powered, retro-propulsive rocket with telemetry-based control and thrust vector control (TVC).

Mission

Why we build

Rockets are never a one-person job. Project Rocketry exists for the students who stare at the sky and wonder how physics escapes the textbook and leaves the planet.

This is where the electronics tinkerers, the aerodynamics dreamers and the mechanics builders on campus find each other and become one crew.

One vehicle, many crafts. Bring your curiosity, and we will hand you a launchpad: the physics, the electronics, the mechanics and the aerodynamics, all explored together in collaboration.

Avionics

The brain of the rocket

Flight stabilization and trajectory correction, data acquisition and onboard sensing, communication systems and telemetry, and the electronics at the base station.

  • Custom flight computer and 4-layer PCB
  • Flight software: filters, real-time control, post-flight analysis
  • Two-way telemetry link with the base station

Structural

The body of the rocket

The rocket's body and overall structural design, landing mechanisms and recovery structures, aerodynamic design and stability.
